Island Clean Up Day. THIS WEEKEND!!!
This Saturday the ICB is sponsoring an Island Clean Up Day. It is scheduled for this Saturday, the 19th starting at 9am. All you have to do is stop by the P.O. and pick up some big black garbage bags and go pick up some trash! Then, bring it back to the P.O. and chuck it in the big Z&S dumpster they will have setting out there. Pretty simple and this is a great time of year to do this because the underbrush has not grown back yet and you can SEE ALL the trash!
We will be there till 3pm and there is plenty of trash for everyone, so EVERYONE can participate!!
The areas of interest are:
1. Chocomount Beach out to main road
2. Isabella Beach out to main road (both ways)
3. East Main Road from Gate House to Big Club
4. Post Office to Mobil Station and Dock Beach up to Market, take left back to Post Office.
5. Post Office to lower Shingle Hill Road, past Hay Harbor, past Peters Way to Market, take right back to P.O.
6. Post Office to Clinic, take right past Pequot, right on Gloaming to main road. Left on Etlich down to South Beach up to main road. Take right back to Post Office.
7. Ferry area and around School and Bowling alley
8. Your own neighborhood area.
So come get your bags and make it a fun thing, get your kids into it or take the dog for a long walk, either way, this is a fun event that helps keep Fishers Island beautiful!!!
